Mild hybrid


A mild hybrid is a drive system which

  • can be started by the electric motor
  • has an automatic start/stop function
  • can support the combustion engine in terms of torque (boost function)
  • can maintain the combustion engine in the ideal consumption range (load point shift)
  • can return braking energy to the energy store (recuperation)

Full hybrid

The full hybrid has the properties of the mild hybrid, but can generally also be driven purely by electric means.
The size of the energy store determines the duration of operation by purely electric means.
